Medical & Scientific Services has been providing expertise to the Australasian region for over 16 years. Specific services include compliance testing of Diagnostic X-ray equipment, radiation safety training courses, shielding design, documentation, physics supervision for radiotherapy procedures and consulting on all matters physics and radiation related.
Our team is made up of two core consultants and a specialised team of part-time consultants, who provide expertise when required.
Jonathon Thwaites
Company Founder and Director
Jonathon has had a long record of success in Medical and Scientific fields and is currently the Radiation Safety Officer for Curtin University, The Mount Hospital, Hollywood Private Hospital, Joondalup Health Campus, St John of God Hospital Murdoch, St John of God Hospital Midland and for the Department of Treasury and Finance for its Mt Walton Intractable Waste Disposal Facility for the Government of Western Australia.
Also Radiation and Safety Officer for the University of Western Australia.
Jonathon holds a Master’s Degree (Medical Physics) from the University of Surrey (England) and Bachelor of Applied Science (Physics) from W.A. Institute of Technology.
Jonathon is passionate about sustainability was a founding Director of BioWorks Australia which brings biodiesel manufacturing capacity to local communities and runs biodiesel workshops throughout Australia and overseas.
Organised the hugely successful Perth Sun Fair for 10 years a sustainable living event attracting 15000 visitors per year, builds sustainable toys and invented and constructed the popular People Powered Popup Cinema. He has Solar Power Station number 1 in Western Australia on the ORER.
He has interests in art – sculpture, drawing and painting and upcycled furniture from recycled materials
Cameron Storm
Cameron joined the team in 2010. He completed his undergraduate work at The University of Western Australia, obtaining a Bachelor of Economics and a Bachelor of Science, with an honours degree in Bio-Physics. He then obtained a Masters degree of Applied Physics (Medical & Health) at RMIT University in Melbourne.
Cameron’s time away from physics is monopolised by triathlon, with multiple state titles in Triathlon, Duathlon and Aquathon events, a well as representing Australia at an international level.
Thomas Greig
Thomas joined the team in 2017. He has worked as Supervising Medical Physicist and Senior Medical Physicist, Department of Medical Technology and Physics, Sir Charles
Gairdner Hospital, Nedlands, WA. Whilst working at SCGH he co-ordinate testing of irradiating apparatus for Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, Osborne Park Hospital and King Edward Memorial Hospital. Commissioning of the new Perth Children’s Hospital.
